The Fruit And Veggie Healthy Cleanse 2 Day Program

Now that the holidays are over, we are all patting our bellies and regretting that extra box of chocolates, those additional glasses of champagne and the fatty meals that we have been enjoying over the past week or two. Indulging ourselves ever so often is required, but if you want to get back into shape and improve your health after the high fat, high sugar holidays, you can start a two-day cleanse.

A good way to prepare your body for the cleanse is to start eliminating the fatty foods, the processed foods, and anything that is an animal product from your diet over the period of a week. This will help your body begin to slowly get rid of some of the toxins that have already built up in your system. It will also start to prepare your body for the 2-day long cleanse that it is about to endure.

The cleanse itself is all about consuming only raw fruits and raw vegetables – that’s it. You can consume these in their juice form or in the whole form (don’t make the mistake of buying high-sugar juices from the store – you will need to make the juices yourself). The goal is to drink between 32 and 64 ounces of fresh juice a day. The fruits and vegetables will give your body all of the nutrients that it needs in order to function properly, so don’t think that you may be depriving your body of nutrients.

TIP:

It’s important to try and avoid any citrus foods at all cost, as they may tamper with your metabolism. Stick with the basics, such as (but not limited to) carrots, cabbage, celery, beets, apples and cranberries.

It’s important to realize that your calorie intake will be substantially lower than it has been, so you will need to really rest and take it easy during these two days. It is okay to take a nap or two during the day. It is normal to feel hungry. Do not work out or do any strenuous exercise, otherwise, you risk feeling dizzy or even fainting. Drink as much water as you like to help keep your body hydrated and to allay any sort of hunger pangs.

Once the two-day-cleanse is over, you should then begin to reintroduce HEALTHY foods back into your diet. That means introducing whole foods, such as the fruits and vegetables that you have been eating, as well as whole wheat pasta, brown rice, baked and unbattered fish, and low-fat dairy products. Though you have completed a cleanse, this by no means indicates that you can once again begin to indulge in those processed and fatty foods. For the cleanse to truly be beneficial, it’s important to make an entire lifestyle change and to put a stop to consuming these cooked, unnatural foods.

TIP:

Throughout the duration of the cleanse, it’s alright to still take your regular multivitamin to ensure that you are receiving all of the nutrients that your body requires. It may be a good time to take a good hard look at your vitamins and make sure that they are of quality and giving you the nutrition that you need. Ask your doctor or a nutritionist for more information.
